In the hearts of all Rory Gallagher fans, his brother Dónal can only hold a huge space.
It is, thanks to him, that - for almost three decades! - continues to be release, at a steady pace, the wonderful albums that wear new and never realised versions of songs never published during Rory's lifetime.
May he be forever thanked for dedicating 30 years of his life to keeping Rory's memory alive. And I'm not even afraid to write it: no doubt to have further reinforced it among its old fans, as well as brand new ones.

I hided my camera and my lens in mountains socks under me trouser and played hide and seek with security guys as it was forbidden too take pictures.
I transformed this photograph into a watercolor I would like to offer you so you could use it on one of your next project...

First, in the name of any of Rory's fans, I would like to thank you SO MUCH for the dedication to your brother's life. The great way you made live his legacy, all the recordings you brings to life. Because of you, Rory stay alive for ever in the spirit, heart and soul of any of his fans all around the world.
I was at Bonhams, last Wednesday and Thursday 16 and 17th October, 2024 and, unfortunately, I did not knew you was there before the auction began... So I could talk of my project with you in person.
The first question I would have probably ask: I wonder why you never came to write a biography about your brother. Who better than you would be able to do it?
It seems that your answer to that question is that you are more occupied to produce Rory’s new music rather than to ''write your book''.
As I wrote there is quite a few books published about Rory and none of them except the brand new 'Rory Gallagher - The Later years', really satisfied me.
So could I convince you to work on this project?...
I could send you questions by emails and you could answer same way and then, it is my job as two magazines editor since a decade and a half, propose you the result on paper by sending .pdf files like this one.
Of course this biography would be published in English language. I get good English friends, close to my home (both retired French professors), that could help me to improved my English.
One last thing: I would not do it for money, I could give back to Gallagher’s family the profits from the sale.
A quite ambitious project to realize this four hands ‘‘Top Biography’’, I dream of. Made of only hight level quality photographs and most of all your testimonials...

As a very longtime* fan of Rory, I wonder why I waited so long to decide I could have the mad and ambitious project to try to co-write a Rory Gallagher’s biography, I get in my heart and soul since so many years?
First reason: Bonhams auction, where I went on October 17th, 2024... A sale that relight the fire!...
I am conscious of the mountain I prepare myself to climb, but work never fear me.
So what does drive me to climb this mountain? oner again, the answer is quite clear: very few books about Rory Gallagher were published and most of them satisfied me!
As Gretchen Peters sing in her great song ‘Wichita’: « if you want something done, you do it yourself »
But... The best way would be to do it a close collaboration with Dónal. I cannot imagine, one minute only, to do it without his essential help.
This very day, I bought www.rorygallagher.fr web site, a domain name still available by this end of 2024!
May be the first reason yo buy this domain name was to get a solution to get in contact with Dónal!?!
Is it not a little pretentious to pretend to propose something new? Hope this web site will bring some different point of view from the great official Rory Gallagher web site: www.RoryGallagher.com and...
